Microsoft Dynamics CRM in India
Having acquired over 1 million worldwide CRM users, the Microsoft Dynamics CRM product has been quickly elevated to a market share leader position globally and in India. Perhaps the most highlighted Dynamics CRM announcements have been related to Microsoft's continuing software + services market advancements.
The most recent Dynamics CRM 2011 advances the software as a service (SaaS) multi-tenant architecture for on-demand customers and is the first Dynamics CRM version to share an identical code set for both online and offline usage. In a possible sign of market change, Microsoft is aggressively lowering the price of on-demand CRM software. At the Convergence 2010 Europe conference the company announced a new promotional price for Dynamics CRM Online of $34 (31 Euros) per user per month for the first year of service.
However, not all Microsoft partners are embracing the lower subscription pricing model and India is not yet in the list of countries that may purchase the online CRM solution. Nonetheless, Microsoft's pricing models are being well received by companies in India and the Dynamics CRM product is being adopted in on-premise environments in large scale.
According to Mr. Doug Hauger, Business & Marketing Officer of Microsoft India Pvt. Ltd, "Today there are three factors that determine the success or failure of most CRM initiatives – user adoption, business fit and total cost of ownership. Microsoft Dynamics CRM has been created bearing these challenges in mind. It combines the features and benefits of a CRM application, with the ease of use and powerful functionality of Outlook to provide a holistic solution. The product design ensures that every user in an organization can easily use and the solution seamlessly integrates into the existing IT infrastructure - offering not only a lower total cost of ownership but also greater return on investment."
Dynamics CRM 2011 is well positioned for growth in the India marketplace. Microsoft has a mature value added reseller (VAR) channel throughout India. Also, platform software products such as SQL Server, Windows Server and IIS, as well as desktop products such as MS Office and Outlook, are extremely popular among India SMB companies and provide a natural segway to Dynamics CRM 2011. The deep integration and synchronization between Dynamics CRM and Outlook deliver a seamless user experience, rapid learning environment and strong user adoption.
