SAP CRM in India

According to Vinay Iyer, SAP Global CRM Solution Marketing Vice President, despite the economic downturn, the CRM software market saw some positive numbers and grew approximately 2% to 3% in the last 18 months. While such anemic growth is not generally exciting it is understandable considering the severity of the global and regional downturn. Iyer also said, "One major value that CRM solutions have brought is the ability to provide insight and analysis to understand a customer's needs so that companies can determine their best response to prevailing market conditions. Strengthening their focus on value delivery to customers, companies have continued to adopt customer relationship management to not only help address short-term imperatives but also to achieve differentiated capabilities to compete effectively over the long term."

"SAP is very proud to witness its customers featured in the list of top Indian companies. It gives us immense pleasure to note that India's best run businesses have chosen us to be their trusted partner" said Alan Sedghi, President and CEO, SAP Indian Sub-Continent.

SAP is achieving broad based growth in India and has become the first enterprise software solutions vendor to cross the 1000 customer mark in India. At the time of this report, SAP counted over 1130 customers in India from across large, medium and small enterprises spread across over 2500 installations.

Despite their presence in the largest of India companies, SAP understands the massive size of the SMB market and the momentum of cloud computing and software as a service. In August 2010, SAP released its SaaS ERP product, Business ByDesign with Feature Pack 2.5, to prospects and customers in China, France, Germany, India, the United Kingdom and the United States. Early adoption of Business ByDesign in India appears slow, however, interest is growing and SAP is predicted by most to become a SaaS market share leader.
