Pricing

Marketo's marketing automation software is available in three editions according to a number of parameters that proximate company size and marketing sophistication.
- Pricing for the Marketo Spark edition starts at about $1000 per month.
- Pricing for the Standard edition starts at about $2000 per month and includes 10 users.
- Pricing for the Select edition starts at $3200 per month and includes 25 users.
Marketo introduced Spark in October 2011. This newest edition is aimed largely at small businesses, and comes with a reduced subscription fee starting at about $995.00 per month with an annual contract, or a higher price if a quarterly contract. Marketo discontinued its SMB edition, which started at $1200 per month, supported up to 3 users, and actually didn't have some functionality that the newer and lower cost Spark edition does offer. Key features not included in Spark include email testing and deliverability assistance, revenue cycle reporting, granular user permissions and rights management, API access, and the Sales Insight—although some of these features can be purchased for additional fees a la carte.
Each marketing automation software edition varies by number of users supported, database size, software feature sets and customer support levels. All editions come with email support while the Professional and Enterprise editions also include telephone support. Marketo insists upon minimum one year contracts.
Marketo products sold separately include, but are not limited to, Sales Insight beginning at about $49.00 per seat per month and Revenue Cycle Analytics beginning at about $1,500 per month. Additional fees apply for items such as dedicated IP addresses, enhanced email deliverability services, integration to CRM systems other than Salesforce.com, customer support packages and various other services. Technology

Marketo is a native thin-client, browser-based web application developed using the Salesforce.com Force.com platform as a service (PaaS) toolkit and operates on a MySQL database. Force.com powers all of the Salesforce Customer Relationship Management applications. The tight integration to Salesforce.com provides seamless data transfer, security and authentication processes. Marketo is hosted in Rackspace data centers.
